Our Mission
Hands-on projects bringing hope and justice.
Food Aid
Providing meals to struggling families.
Shelter Aid
Fixing homes for vulnerable families.
At the Fundacja Nadłamanej Trzciny, our mission is simple, urgent, and drawn directly from the teachings of Jesus: to be His hands and feet in a hurting world by providing immediate, tangible care to our most vulnerable neighbors. We believe that faith without works is dead (James 2:17), and so our work is focused on two foundational acts of mercy: Food Aid and Shelter Aid.
We are called to strengthen the "bruised reed" by meeting these most basic human needs—nourishment and safe shelter—with compassion, dignity, and the unwavering love of Christ.
Our Twofold Mission of Mercy
1. Food Aid: Filling Plates, Nourishing Souls
Hunger is not just a physical condition; it is an assault on human dignity and a barrier to hope. Our Food Aid mission is more than charity; it is an act of communion and shared humanity, a direct response to Christ's command to "give them something to eat" (Matthew 14:16).
What We Do:
Community Kitchens & Hot Meal Programs: We operate and support spaces where anyone struggling with food insecurity can receive a nutritious, hot meal in a warm, welcoming environment. These are places of fellowship, not just feeding.
"Breadbasket" Emergency Food Parcels: We distribute weekly or monthly parcels filled with essential, non-perishable groceries—staple foods, canned goods, pasta, and baby formula—to families, the elderly, and individuals in crisis.
Nutritional Support for Children: We run targeted programs to ensure school-aged children have access to healthy breakfasts or after-school snacks, removing the barrier of hunger from their ability to learn and grow.
How We Do It:
Through church partnerships, volunteer networks, and donor support, we source and prepare food with care. Every meal and parcel is delivered with a smile, a prayer if welcomed, and the clear message: "You are seen, you are valued, you are not alone."
The Impact:
A full stomach is the first step toward stability. By eliminating the gnawing anxiety of hunger, we free individuals and families to focus on healing, job-seeking, and rebuilding their lives, all while experiencing the tangible love of Christ.
2. Shelter Aid: Mending Homes, Restoring Sanctuary
A safe and warm home is the bedrock of family life, dignity, and well-being. For the elderly, disabled, and impoverished families, a leaking roof, broken window, or faulty heater is a crisis that can lead to despair. Our Shelter Aid mission answers the call to "provide the poor wanderer with shelter" (Isaiah 58:7).
What We Do:
Critical Home Repair & Weatherization: We send teams of skilled volunteers and contractors to perform urgent repairs for those who cannot afford or physically manage them. This includes fixing leaky roofs, repairing broken windows, installing insulation, and fixing unsafe steps or railings.
Heating & Warmth Interventions: We ensure vulnerable households have a functioning and safe source of heat for the winter. We repair or service heaters, provide safe electric heaters, and distribute warm blankets and insulation materials.
Accessibility & Safety Modifications: For the elderly and disabled, we make small but life-changing modifications like installing grab bars, ramps, or threshold lifts to prevent falls and enable independence.
How We Do It:
We work with local social services and church communities to identify families in the most critical need. Our projects are conducted with deep respect for the recipients' dignity, transforming their living space into a true sanctuary of safety and peace.
The Impact:
A repaired home restores more than just a physical structure; it restores safety, hope, and a sense of worth. It protects health, prevents tragedy, and allows a family to thrive rather than merely survive. It is a powerful testament to God's protecting and providing love.
Why This Mission? Because Love is Specific.
We chose this focused mission because Christ’s love meets us in our specific, physical needs. He fed the multitudes. He offered rest to the weary. By providing Food and Shelter, we embody the most fundamental aspects of His compassion. We are not merely offering sympathy; we are sharing our bread and mending our neighbor's roof. This is the love that worries not just for its own home, but for the homes and tables of the broken, the forgotten, and the struggling.
Join Our Mission of Mercy.
Your support directly puts food on a family's table and repairs the roof over a grandmother's head. Together, we can live out the Gospel in the most practical, profound way—one meal, one home, one life at a time.
